Hi guys,

I have a weird issue and I need some help :).

My customer had a IP500v2 with a DS30 running 6.1 software.
The DS30 expansion died and we replace it with a DS30B.

The DS30B is not compatible with 6.1 so we updrade the IPO to 8.1.91

Even after upgrade the DS30B is not seen in IPO SSA.

I cannot find any log in Monitor to tell me what the issue is.

I've tried to connect it to another expansion port without any success.

Any idea ??

Best regards,
Nicolas

What upgrade licence did you use? Don't say you bought the small site to save money as that's the issue I imagine :)

Upgrade is OK. We purchased Upgrade License + Essential Edition

Everything works find except the DSB30 ....

There are 2 upgrade licences, a cheap one for small sites with <32 users and a more expensive one, what does yours show as in the licence field :)

I know :). We purchased the "full" upgrade license and there is no alarm in SSA ...

Do you have any other expansion modules? If so, are those working ok?

Dan

I blame Avaya.

No we only have this expansion on this site

What color is the led on the front?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Not too sure if the DS30 module was upgraded also, see if this helps: Shutdown the IPO500 (always good to backup), supply power to DS30 module, use supplied power adapter and RJ45 blue cable; led on DS30 should be flashing THEN power on the IPO 500V2 the module upgrade should take 10min.

I made many test but I'm not sure I did this particular start order.
To be sure I understand the right procedure should be :
1- Power off both IP500 and DS30
2- Power on DS30 and wait until green led flashes
3- Power on IP500 and wait approx 10minutes

1 question, during the upgrade process, can I monitor something ? Maybe memory card access on monitor ?

flashing green means it hasn't connected to the IPO but firmware is OK and its booted. It will go solid once it has booted. Does it ever go solid prior to the IPO starting?

What do you have your TFTP server set to? I suspect it just needs a firmware upgrade and it normally gets it via the IPO via TFTP

No it never go solid.
I've just try to boot everything in the right order but it still not work.
The DS30B is still flashing green.

Is there really a link between expansion and TFTP Server?
There was a specific firmware for DS30B but I've already upload it ...

May it be the expansion ports on the IPO side that are dead ?

Could be the port on the back of the IPO.
Try a different port.

already tried ....
My last supposition is that the DS30B was ship with 9.0 firmware and my IPO in 8.1 doesn't manage to downgrade it.

Si I'm currently upgrading my manager to upgrade to R9, see if my DS30B is recognized and then go back to R8.1
