We have a remote EPN with ports A to D active and using T1s as the fiber link. Since this is not a trunk group, how do we monitor the traffic on the DS1c? how would i know if the traffic is on T1 Port A? or does the traffic go from Port A to D?

As far as the definity goes you wont know what DS1C the traffic is on.

The EI card just thinks that there is an 8 meg link there ( fiber or T1) it doesnt know.

There are no commands on the definity to check this either.

Thanks for verifying this idstech. The reason why i'm asking this is to check for utilization and for link maintenance wherein we have to bring one of the ports down but would not know if traffic is passing through it or not.

Have a look at command status port-network XX

and also list meas load today

They provide some information on the port newtork links.
There is no command specific for DS1C EI's as the objects are configurable and the system just thinks that it is fiber.

If you do a 'list measurements load total today' you can see the number of timeslots that are used between each PN or from the PN to the Center Stage Switch listed in the right-hand section. The left-hand section deals with timeslots within the PN.

"li meas blockage pn today" gives a pretty good picture of your traffic. If you are using 4 DS1's, you should show a total of 232 time-slots. The 2nd to the last column (link peak) will show you the max number of simulataneous timeslots used during the day's busy hour.
