DS1 Install for Conference Bridge Application 1

Forgive me for posting what might seem like a simple question, but I have researched all threads and just can't get what I am looking for...

I am installing a DS1 card (Non-PRI) as a TIE line from the switch to a Conference Bridge. I am familiar with the steps on a Siemens system but not Avaya G3r rel.11.

I have installed and configured the DS1 board as Robbed Bit and Trunk Group with E&M Wink/Wink. That much I am OK with. However, I have a DID number I would like to point to this trunk group so the Conference Bridge on the other end can receive the calls. Any assistance with the steps would be most appreciated.

The way I do it is as follows:
Example
1 change uniform-dialplan analysis 85700 (DID Number)
2 screen populates with the plan and the line should look like this 85700 5 1 157 aar n 85700 DID 5 is the extension length 157 is the AAR code 1 is the number of digits deleted AAR is the network used n no more conversions
3 change aar analysis 157 you will receive a screen and populate it as follows :
Dialed Total Route Call Node ANI
String Min Max Pattern Type Num Reqd
157 7 7 157 aar n

Dial string 157 Uniform dial plan did that for you. Min/Max 7 7 all digits Route pattern 157 defined in next step Call type AAR Node blank ANI REQ N
4 change route 157 a screen will populate with:

Grp FRL NPA Pfx Hop Toll No. Inserted DCS/ IXC
No Mrk Lmt List Del Digits QSIG
Dgts Intw
1: 10 0 7 n user
group Number 10 this is the trunk group you defined
FRL 0 everybody can use it
NPA prefix mark Hop limit and toll list blank
no del digits 7 delete all digits
dcs/qsig N IXC user
This will rout all calls to 85700 both internal and NPA-NXX 5700 to this trunk group.

Unfortunately I don't have the "change uniform-dialplan analysis" command available to me... I do have "Change UDP" but that screen does not referrence any of the things you are talking about... Am I missing something?

Great Change UDP is easier. Type change udp 85700. Below is a screen dump

One last thing... In my Dialplan, I had UDP set to none. If I enable this, do you foresee any issues with outbound LD dialing? I know you don't know my config, but is there potential?

On your dial plan record UDP should be set to your digit length if you have 4 digit extensions or 5 digit extensions.

As for outbound dialing this will not touch the outbound at all.

Thanks for the info in this thread. Question - I noticed that Node Num for aar ana is left blank just about every example I've seen. How is this used? Where are nodes defined and when would I use here?

I used the node number in AAR when I was using DCS between switches. I matched the Node number in the dial plan records to the node num on the AAR form. I have since changed from DCS to QSig and the node num is no longer needed.

I appreciate your reply - I'm trying to understnad how our system works and not much info. Below is a list of node names. There is no node routing.
NODE NAMES
Type Name IP Address
AUDIX audix . . .
MSA msa . . .
IP default 0 .0 .0 .0
IP ethernet 172.etc.

We have dial plan record shows Local Node is 1, ETA node and routing pattern blank. I have setup 4-digit dialing for several foreign offices using AAR, RO and UDP. Calls go through two-way PRI trunk that is type: tie. Used for DCS = n, ACA Assignment = n.
So in this setup, we do not need to identify each switch for each office because calls are not routed using ETA ... or ....?

AAR ROute and UDP are easy ways to route calls. In the UDP table you tell the system that the extension is using a udp code. The udp code points to a aar code usually the same 3 digits(just to keep it simple). The aar codes then points to a ROute. This route then strips the aar code and picks the trunk group (the PRI translated as tie). In the route you can add or delete digits for the destination PBX. Node routing is more complex to program but the end result is the same. I would keep it as you got it.
Now for the Node Names:
AUDIX is how you get to the Voicemail system. Because the IP address is blank you are most likely set up as a link. MSA is also voicemal (Messageing service adjunct). IP Default everyone got that. IP ethernet is how you ASA is "talking" to the PBX.
