Hi all,
we are trying to update the firmware on our DS1 board (TN2464 HW01 FW019) to FW020.
Whenever we have tried this, it comes back with a Fail, reason code 6232.

Can anyone let me know what this code is and where I would be able to find it, if it comes back again...

Thanks.

HI,
are you doing a distributed C-Lan upgrade?
How did you get the firmware, did you use Internet Explorer 6 or 7? (which)
The actual error codes are a pain because it's very hard to find out what they really mean.
IE 6 can change the filename and stick an unwanted didgit into the filename, IE7 has fixed this.
Busy and reset the DS1 before starting.

Hi all,

We found out what the issue was - we have hardware version 01 DS1 boards and the new firmware 20 is only ofr HW10 and up. Therefore, it was giving us this error...

I dont know what we are going to do now, if Avaya only releases new FW versions for new boards? I guess we will sit on FW19 for the life of the PABX.

Thanks.

While it is a good best practice to stay up to date on firmware, unless you are having issues with your board that is addressed with FW20, you should be good sitting on FW19.

Avaya distributes various loads of firmware updates based on the hardware vintage of the board. Can get a little confusing at times but if you go to the support web site and download the software/firmware compatibility matrix you are at a good starting point. Download and READ the read.me files for each firmware file you get. It will provide the information you need on which board hardware versions it applies to.
