DRT Line Issue

The main incoming line has about 7 lines behind it in a hunting sequence. There is an auto attendant with extension choices, when dialing extension “230”, there is an error readout on the caller id display “DRT – LINE -064 and what sounds like a machine gun noise when the phone is answered. I’m not sure if it’s all calls to that extension or it’s random ringing but the customer said it happens about every 30 seconds. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Make sure the lines are supervised and turn DRT off.

Thats a weird case.

If you turn DRT off then trouble will go elsewhere, suggest to fix the issue.
Maybe assign the line to ring at reception and see if same issue.....could be some terrosit or bad fax machine.

If its a BCM50 release 2 with analogue lines then this is a known issue.

Apply latest rel2 SU patches to fix it.

The line is answered by AA and to the incoming caller they hear ringing.
The AA goes through its routine but no messages are played back,
When the extn user answers the call they hear that noise,
