I have been asked to sort out installing the MAT application at one of our sites so that we can plug it directly into the Meridian box there. I have absolutely no knowledge of Meridian phone systems but we do have someone who knows how to administer them, just not how to install them. This is where I >supposedly< come in. I am installing the MAT software V6.5 onto an NT box. When installing, it tells me that Remote Access needs to be installed. Now in order to install RAS onto an NT box, you need to bind it to something. All I want to do is plug a serial cable into the com port of the PC and run it to the serial cable off the Meridian box as it is at one of our other sites. There's no modem involved so I have nothing to bind it to, so why would I need RAS installed?

Obvious to you maybe, but as I say, all new to me.

Thanks for any suggestions you have.

When setting up MAT, it usually requires RAS, Client for Microsoft, and dial up Networking.... I Believe it dosen't use these services, but you need them present when installing MAT... One of those Nortel Mysteries...

From past experience MAT should be the only application running on the box... however sometimes you are lucky and MAT will coexist with other software.
