Hi Guys,

We are having an issue with dropped calls over our SCN, we have a IP500 and IP406 V2 both running 4.2(14).

Every now and again calls are ringing but when the customer picks up the calls there is no one there and the call has been dropped!

Has anybody run into this??

Cheers

Sounds like a Direct Media Path problem, are any of the handsets IP Phones?

Hi,

No they are all digital phones (5410).

Wontwork,
Had similar problem-sane systems and release.
After many exhausting days, ended up being the type PRI service. Had provider change service to a "managed" product and all has been working great. Didn't cost a bundle either. And guess who's responsible for connectivity? May be worth investigating.

wontwork,

Are you using a site to site VPN between the sites? If so, depending on your firewall, look for something such as "H323 Transformations", or "FIXUP H323". You want to TURN OFF/DISABLE this.

Hi guys,

The issue seems to have gone away now without me doing anything, so fingers crossed it fixed itself!!!

BTW - we are not using site to site vpn, we are just using extended LAN over fibre.

cheers,

Extended Lan over fiber>How far apart are the offices?

Indeed why ?
Do you have so many users or are you fasing out the 406 ?

We need two IP Offices for the following reason:

Our customer was taken over by another company and moved into the building next to them.
Our customer took there IP406V2 which we had supplied to re-use, some departments from the company that bought them also moved into the new building.
The departments that moved needed to keep there old numbers which were on a siemans system (we could not port the numbers as to many ranges had been ported already)so we spoke to the siemans maintainer and said that we need to link these 2 system together via VOiP, apparently the siemans is not man enough for this so we suggested suppling a IP500 in the building where the siemans was and created a Qsig link between the IP500 and siemans and then SCN'd the 406V2 with the IP500.
