Dropdown... open links in new win AND parent

Hey --

I need some help with a script I'm making for my site. I'm trying to make a javascript dropdown link menu, that can open links in both the parent window and a new window as needed -- i.e. links to other pages on my site open in the same window, whereas links to sponsor sites will open in a new window.

I have it "kinda" working (see below script), but when you click on the sponsor link not only does it open in a new window, but also in the parent window simultaniously. Can someone help fix it?

Hi dynamicnet,

You just have to change your window.open method, try this sample :

window.open(newPage, '_blank');

Hope this helps ...

Hmm that doesn't seem to work either... now &quot;all&quot; of the links open in a new window. I also noticed a quick glimpse of the yellow &quot;javascript error&quot; icon in my browser status, but it evidently wasn't enough of an error to pop up anything.

If your method did in fact work for you, can you please paste the full code you were using?

because the forum automatically puts hyperlinks in for web addressses it put a &quot;;&quot; in the if statement. This code should work.

Hi...

Tried it, did the same thing as before (opens all links in a new window). So, I tried taking out all the ; but still no success.

If you go to - you can see... I copy-and-pasted what you wrote in your most recent post, added the appropriate URL....

Can you please post your test page online that is working so I can grab the code from there?

I pasted your webpage and ran it on my machine it errored because the OpenPartner function you created with my code in was not closed with a &quot;}&quot;. Once closed I got it to work. I'm going to paste the entire code here as you can see it if you do view source code any way. If you want you can send me an email and I'll reply unless you get it working as well after putting the ending &quot;}&quot; for the function.
