Could someone please tell me how to make a cell look to a different sheet in order to use in a drop down list, thats if it's possible. Or any other solutions would be gratefully appreciated.

It's just common sense, shame sense isn't common!

Name the list in the other sheet using Insert / Name (Assume you have named it MyList).
Then on the sheet you want to create your list, use Data / Validation / List, then type =MyList in the reference box and hit OK

Thanks for that Ken, worked brilliantly. Could you tell me though if it is possible to give a different value in one cell depending on one chosen from the drop down list?
i.e. 1st Class chosen ---- 26p
Recorded Delivery --- £3-50

If the file is large (> 1 MB) then put it in a ZIP file to speed things up a bit!
