Hello!

I am currently having some issues with an Access 97 application. The application has some linked tables which are stored on a separate server, while 4 different users have a local copy stored on their machines and is linked to the databases on the server.

Every once in awhile when a few of the users are in the application entering data, a specific drop down box is empty. Sometimes, if they close out the app and come back in things are in place, other times the DD is still empty. Other times though this course of action will not solve and the problem and the DD will still be blank. What could be causing this problem?

Any ideas or thoughts on what could be causing this issue would be helpful.

Thanks,

Mike Ebner

I have found Access to exhibit a number of strange behaviours similar to the one you mentioned (plus lots of others). A lot can be remedied by Compacting & Repairing (local copies & server copy) and ensuring that the local copies are also compiled (in the VB window). Any design changes in an Access app will cause it to need recompiling.

The above assumes the use of mdb's as opposed to mde's.

Hope this helps in some way.
