Hi

I have an issue where users home directories are not mapping correctly intermitantly.

The drive in question is not mapped by script, AD maps the drive, so I have ruled out a speed issue.

There where some issues with DNS name resolution at the site, but I fixed this after spoting an invalid PTR record. DNS now seems to be working fine, although I can not rule this out as a possible cause for the problem.

When users log on after first turning the PC on, the home drive will sometimes not map, however if they then logoff and back on, the drive maps perfectly everytime?!

The clients are Windows 2000, the domian is Native Windows 2000.

The site has its own domain controller with DNS. The dns is an active directory intergrated zone. DHCP is haddled by a Cisco Router.

Many thanks in advance.

Update:-

Just spotted something

There was no _LDAP record for the local Domain controller, so authenication traffic was travelling up an sDSL link, which was sometimes timing out and logging the computers on locally, hence the missing drive!

I have added the record and it now seems to be ok

Thanks
