Hello,
Running HPUX 11i
Here's our situation. We have a J5600 with 4 hot swap drives. The other day the boot disk failed to spin up during a re-start. The user thought that he would try it in another slot. When he removed the other drives he didn't mark their location. We got the boot drive up and now we are trying to figure out what to do with the mixed up drives which have logical volumes.
Can I simply place the drives in any slot and if they are not properly placed just get errors? Or will the improper placement cause the data to be corrupt?

Thanks

Do you have another system for testing ?
You can import the vg on the disk(s) and then figure out what vg it was, export the vg and then place in you system.
