I have recently set-up a couple of 2K ISA servers which after a bit of trouble now appear to be working fine. All my users are able to connect to the new servers but they are unable to use their mapped drives to the old NT4 IIS server. The message received claims that the network name is incorrect or the user doesn't have access rights, either of which are correct. Its quite strange, any ideas gratefully received.

Are the w2k servers members of a domain, or stand alone's? Can the users ping the nt server? Do you have a bad hosts or lmhosts file? How's your dns and wins set up? Glen A. Johnson

The 2K servers are in a new domain seperate to the NT4 domain. DNS is setup as standard. I will check the hosts\lmhosts files.

If they can ping, then it's a rites problem. Is there a trust relationship between domains? Don't know if it's needed, just looking for possibilities. Glen A. Johnson
