Lads,
Q:
Is there a way that a Network drive can be defined on a server prior to logon. Ie. at system startup
Scenario:
I have a 2000 server that has a service running that requires a Persistant Network drive to be mapped.
Workaround:
Currently I run a scheduled task that runs during Logon regardless of who logs on, as the script uses NET USE with userID and password included to establish connection.
Problem:
In the case of Powerfailure or reboot, the server does not process the script.
Because typicaly no one logs on to the server.
Tests:
I have set the schedule to run at system startup and it seems to try to run the task. but cannot establish a drive mapping.
Plea:
Is there another way I could map a drive at system startup?
Would be very gratefull for any ideas at all.
Regards
