My win98 computer has two cd drives, J: and K:, but I booted up yesterday and my K: drive doesn't show in Windows Explorer. During boot-up I can see that the BIOS finds both drives. I can't seem to be able to re-install the drive, and the BIOS settings appear to be right. How can I get my K: drive back? Thanks for any advice.

Do both drives appear in the device manager

Try deleting them both from the device manager and windows should re-install them when you re-boot

Thanks qazx! It worked. Only the one drive was listed in the device manager, but I removed it. After two reboots everything was back in order.

I recently upgraded to Win98SE from Win95. My system used to be very stable and trouble free, but now it's just one problem after another.
