We have got our first DRG 22i unit, we have it up and running sending faxes making voice calls everything is ok but for one thing, how do you transfer a call? We usually use the recall button on an analogue telephone on the Ericsson MD110 we have but this doesn't work via the DRG extension, we suspect because the drg can not transmit the time break recall signal?

Any ideas, we don't have access to the ALEX database that I have read about in some of the threads or any information from our supplier/partner (who I’d rather not mention), I suspect that to hold a call or transfer it a different method/key combination will have to be used.

Any ideas???

well, the answer is simple. you can't transfer calls with the DRG. this unit is meant to serve analog faxes over IP.

Cheers,
Daddy

Whosrdaddy, thanks for the reply

Here part of the Ericsson specification sheet

The DRG22i serves as an ideal and cost-effective IP
gateway for fax or voice calls. Using the CAS extension
feature combined with the Integrated Trunk Gateway (ITG)
function on the MD110 BC12.1, analogue phones or G3 fax
machines connected via the DRG22i have access to a
complete range of system services

that I found at the following Ericsson archive site

I forgot to mention that we have had the BC13 upgrade.

The information on the Ericsson sheet leads you to believe that you can.

Any ideas?

...combined with the Integrated Trunk Gateway (ITG)"
Then you can transfer calls, but not when the DRG box is combined with a ELU32/IPLU board.

Ah now I see it,

If I’d read a little further I would have seen the

The DRG22i can be registered directly towards the MD110 IP
extension board as a basic analogue phone gateway for
both fax and voice calls. In this scenario, the MD110
services available are the ones invoked at dial tone (e.g.
abbreviated dialing, account code, follow-me, group call
pick-up, message diversion, personal number, etc.). No
services can be invoked during the call.

Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees,

Thanks for the guidance.

ITG Replacement for MX-ONE Telephony System-Telephony Switch :

The Integrated Trunk Gateway (ITG) had the following traits when connecting to the DRG and providing services to the users, therefore it can need replacement:

Poor echo cancellation capabilities for the ITG
The product is outdated
Requires separate management system
No RoHS compliance.

When replacing the ITG with the ASB 501 04 the following is required:

Two TLU76/3 boards looped/connected.
Initiate two CAS extensions configured with signalling schemed D . Use ICAT=xxxDxxxx for B-side extension and ICAT=xxxD1xxx for A-side extension.
The DRG should connect to the ASB 501 04 as an IP extension to ELU32/IPLU (Gatekeeper).
Initiate individual diversion for CAS extension on A-side as extension on B-side.
Initiate a both way hot-line for IP-extension and CAS-extension on A-side.
