I need some help. I have posted a site and it is not up to scratch so I try to update in the local files and then copy across to the server except most of the updates do not work. Some of the updates work but not all of them and I am doing them all the same. I am new to DW and have no idea what the problem any information would be most helpful. Thank you

Try deleting your cache, especially if you use netscape. you may be looking at old files locally.

Why nto delete you whole site and re-upload it? I've sometimes had problems with ISP caching my files for days so the new data didn't work for 2-3 days later.

Probably not the problem though.. i'd delete everything and reload.

Try the refresh option on your browser to force it to reload the page from the site.

Cheers

John

Thank you for the replies, I reloaded the website and the changes came through the next day, thanks NIPPI, I am still having a problem though, the website is coming up as an Untitled Document even though I have written titles in all the title tags, am I missing somethng, any info would be a plus.

Assuming this is a site with no frames, you need to go to modify-then page properties and change your page title from "untitled" to something relevant

This is different to saving the page as a file name, which you also have to do.(Which you ahve already done of course)

If its a framed site, you need to put a title on all of the frames and the framset.

A further note - if any of your pages are .asp's running on an IIS server - those pages can be cached server side for awhile. If you have control over the web server, your best bet is to cycle the web services after posting new pages. If you do not have control over the server, then the other poster's suggestions of completely replacing the site/relevant directories w/ the new files and forcing local cache updating are excellent suggestions.

Good luck!
