I heard from macromedia that dreamweaver ultradev has been discontinued, what has replaced it? I want to make things like client log in pages, dynamic forms and search facilities. Surely someone knows?

So the forum name of "Macromedia: Dreamweaver MX (Ultradev)" didnt give any clues lol

so without the sarcasm, dreamweaver mx has got all these advanced features?

without the sarcasm = yes

with the sarcasm =
I may be sarcastic but you "have been a member since Sep 17, 2003". You must have spent some time locating this forum when the information you require is on the manufacturers website. I personally think that gives me the right to be sarcastic if I wish. There a lot of people who spend a lot of time helping others on this "peer" forum site and if you cant even do a small amount of research yourself then what do you expect.
Remember no one gets paid to answer questions, I do it coz I like to try and help others.

Any other comments on this???

Well you obviously have alot more time on your hands than I do, I have been trying to find out about ultradev and have even asked macromedia newsgroups but I didnt get a very clear answer. However, at least they were professional and friendly about it. Your obviously a computing god who can speak to anyone as he pleases. Im a specialist in my own area and its not ultradev. But I do apologise! There are some questions posed on this site, that I think are very easy to answer but I dont be an asshole about it and try to help the best I can. So you can ban me from this site cos I dont give a flying f*ck.

so who threw their dummy out of the pram today then?

CAINES:
"macromedia newsgroups "
....you just learned about the quality of their newsgroups.....also, they might have not answered it since the question sounds equal to "So there is a newer version of Windows than Win 95? Is it still called windows?"
old news don't grab peoples' attention....

Another way to tell if the product is REALLY discontinued is if u can not find the "trial" verison of it on the corporate site.....
whatever u could have done with the great UD u can do it in newER versions of DW MX.There is weeks worth of reading in their Tutorial/Help files!
This way, u don't have to ask for any help as u seem confident enough!
Good Luck! :)

One of the best features of the Tek-Tips forums is the fact that all questions are patiently answered. I have been driven off other forums, in particular open source forums (?!) because I asked a question that wasn't deemed advanced enough.

It is a good idea to do a keyword search before asking a question.

Cheech - you having a bad day today? This seems a bit different than your usual patient approach. lol

Peace
