dreamweaver problems in netscape

I've created relatively complex pages -- lots of multiple mouseover image swaps, for instance, that work beautifully and flawlessly in IEexplorer 5.+ but not only do they not<br>function properly in Netscape but actually certain mouse cursor rolloevers actually CRASH the browser on my PC, but on certains Macs actually crash the entire OS.<br>This happen regardles of wheter Explorer or Netscape is spedified in the inspector menus.

Dreamweaver does its best but it is easy to create Netscape problems in the code generated. I always start simple and build up the complexity of the page in stages, testing in both browsers as I go along at least you then know where the problems start.<br><br>Use layers only where absolutey requred, keep table structures as simple as possible.<br><br>There is always a solution, but for complicated pages you will need a good working knowledge of raw HTML and or Javascript to fix Netscape problems.

And, of course, I don't have a good working knowledge of raw HTML or JavaScript which is my major reason for working with an &quot;interface&quot; like Dreamweaver in the first place.&nbsp;&nbsp;But, are you saying that if I were to gain such knowledge I would be able to fix these problems.&nbsp;&nbsp;I have some sense of how difficult such a learning curve is -- which is daunting but not forbidding -- yet, it would be terribly frustrating to discover that NN simply cannot handle some of the stuff that IE can.&nbsp;&nbsp;It was already quite annoying that the large amount of time spent to create these pages that worked in IE would not work in NN and if fact crashed the OS of two computers belonging to the people I was actually building the pages for!<br>Thanks the prompt reply.

How long is a piece of string? IE can do things that NN cannot, however as DW tries to produce crossbrowser code I have found that I can always find a way to tweak pages generated from DW to work in both browsers.<br><br>How long do you have?&nbsp;&nbsp;If you do decide to take the plunge, you may quite quickly get to the point where you can ask specific technical questions in a HTML or Javascript forum.
