Hello,

Having recently installed Dreamweaver MX on a friends computer, now when they press F1 in Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver attempts to load the help files. This happened in a couple of other programs as well, Dreamweaver tried to open the help files.

I had a look at file types and CHM and HTML, HTM are still associated with the default browser.

Incidentally Dreamweaver fails to load the files citing an invalid path error.

Any Ideas?

Cheers

Open up yoru Windows Explorer. Locate an HTML/HTM document anywhere. See if the symbol for it is DW (a green circle) or IE (a page with an e)

If its the former, then right click on it, choose properties.

You will see that it describes the document and what program is used to open it. If its set to Dreamweaver, use the change button and then find Internet Explorer to change it. This should reset it.

I think it's going to be a re-install cos the htm, html file types etc are definitely associated with the browser that I use so no clues there!

Cheers for your help

Its the chm files that need to point at "Microsoft® HTML Help Executable"
