Dreamweaver MX Templates driving me crazy

The Templates in the latest version of Dreamweaver (which I regret ever buying anymore) do not originally recognize all of the files that use the Template. In other words, when I update the Template, only about half of the files that use that Template are updated.

I use a check in/check out system for my file sites. The local site leads to my hard drive and the remote site points to a local network drive. Only when I check out the files again after updating a Template will it find all of the files to update. But this is a major pain with my larger sites.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks so much!

Just to clarify. I check out the html pages once and the Template does not find all of the pages it's linked to. It's only when I go through the trouble checking out the pages again that it finds all of them. I hope that makes sense. :)

If you guys don't know, is there another forum that you could direct me to? I feel as if I'm out of options other than paying Macromedia for support... and I definitely want to avoid that.

[tt]The only problem I used to run into was updating directly to the server. I now only update locally then ftp the files to the server once updated.

I dont use templates. SSI means an update only requires 1 file to be uploaded not all 1200 of them.

Hmmmm... well if no one else is experiencing the problem, I guess I must be doing something wrong. Macromedia support, here I come! :)

I agree cheech SSI is the only way to go. But some sites that are so huge and have tonsof pages, both dynamic and static I have had to use library items.

Only reason being due to the sites complicated hiarchy. Seems atleast for me using SSI calls in nested folders trying to go back directories and things like that, just doesn't work.

So in some cases, library and template items are ok and almost nescessary.
