Dreamweaver MX 2004 - form to DBA

I have form built in dreamweaver link to MySQl DBA. I'm populating state and country code from dynamic list from tables in my DBA. I can display these options but, how do I pass the selection of state back to database? (customer selects CA for California I want to save in DBA with his information CA - what I have as a state_code for California)
I'm learning all session variables... I just need some directions.

You just need to update the customer record with the state id. there are many ways to achieve this depending on your code language and at what point you wish the user to have this record saved.

Yes there are many ways to do what you're asking, what scripting language are you using, and which kinda database?
