How to realize Drag and Drop just like the usual windows programs.

Such as:
Drag a text file and Drop it on a Notepad, the Notepad will open it.

Thanks.

seems just examples of how drag and drop sth between widgets, not files.

So what are you trying to accomplish. Drag a file to what (bearing in mind that we're talking Tcl/Tk)?

So, is this all within a Tk window? That is, you have, say, a listbox with a bunch of file names, then you want to drag one of them to a text and have the contents displayed therein? If so, why is that better than having that action accomplished when the item is selected? Why is dragging important?

Otherwise, do you have a Windows Explorer window and you want drag a file name from there into a running Tk window?
