Drag and Drop Files into WebDAV do not obey Storage Rule " Category name is ? "

Hi,

In our setup, whenever a file is being uploaded into a folder it will inherit its category and be put in the corresponding storage provider assigned to the category via the rule "Category name is <Category Name>". This works for Explorer and the traditional file upload. However if I am using WebDAV to drag and drop files in, even though it inherited the correct category, the file is uploaded to the default storage provider as opposed to the one assigned to the category.

Anyone faces similar issue?

I am using WebDAV 3.6.1 on a LES971.

Thanks in advance! =)

Hi Hoonsong,

Hope your problem has been solved by now.

This sounds like a bug in the WebDAV module. The file is properly uploaded to the server, the category is assigned but the logic to select the storage provider is not executed (or too late). You need to raise this with OT Support or start using Builder to look at the code (and the sequence) being executed.

Alternatively, tools are emerging to replace Livelink WebDAV by novel techniques. For example there are web-based tools that use HTML5 (e.g. LL Navigator) that provide drag and drop functionality for documents/folders into Livelink 9.7.x. This uses standard Livelink requests and the problem with an incorrect storage provider will not surface.

kind regards,

Paul
