Is there a way for word documents to display the word draft using word 2000?

I'm assuming you want to add it as a "watermark".

I've done this in the past by adding a WordArt to the header section. You can "stretch" the image to as large as you need it. Mike

 
You could also use the options provided under the:
Format>Background>Printed Watermark.. menu.

Here you can add watermark text or a picture etc.
