I am trying to forward all inbound calls to a certain telephone to an external local phone number. The manual for the phone system says to press "Feature + 8 + 4". When I do that my phone display shows "Denied". Am I missing some kind of permission or possibly doing something wrong? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Line redirection must be allowed in the capabilities of the telephone used to redirect the line. You will find it thusly:
F**23646 23646
next to capabilities
show
next to set
then enter set No.
then scroll next to near the end of the set menu choices and allow redirection for that phone.

Thanks for the info! I did get stuck though. I got stuck after entering the set number.
The display says "Filter 02" and the change function key is lit. At that point I don't have a next function in order to choose the allow redirection feature.

Also, the phone number that I am trying to redirect actually rings to a group of six phones. Do I need to do something special in order to force that line to go off-net from all six phones?

Thanks again for your help on this!

MS,
When entering administration programming, there are three keys that will show the black triangle (the fourth is not lit as there is no option at this time). As you get to capabilities and 'show' so should you 'next' when the 'filter 02' is displayed. Don't use the soft keys at this point. Scroll 'next' until near the end of the menu level and you will see 'redirect Y/N' then use the soft key to change the Y/N parameter.

Okay, I am very close now! Thanks again for the info. Now after enabling line redirection on the set it allows me to redirect a few of the lines. It doesn't allow us to redirect the first line. When I try to redirect the first line it says "outgoing" and then doesn't redirect. The first line is the one I would like to redirect though!

Thanks!

You can't redirect a line to be both incomming and outgoing at the same time. Check your programming. If in doubt clear all and start again.

Hmmm. Okay then, this line that I am trying to redirect to an outside line must be setup as an incoming line only. Esentially I want to take a POTS line and redirect it back out of the system. The problem is POTS lines need to be incoming if they are to receive calls on their associated number. How do I take calls to this incoming POTS line and send it back out? I have 7 other POTS lines that I can send it out if that is possible.
