I'm using Arcserve 2000 Advanced Edition Version 7.0 (Build 1086) for Windows NT 4.0 and each time it runs a backup and tries to update the database, a Dr. Watson for Windows NT error messages comes up.

I've already tried initiating the database, running database integrity checks, verifying system accounts, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS !!

did that and rebooted server. now getting an error when trying to open up ArcServe manager:

asgmr.exe - application error

The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000006). Click on OK to terminate the application.

hmm - check your version of internet explorer is up to date.

Also, check that you don't have a directory off the root of the drive you have ARCserve installed to with a very similar name. The classic example of this would be to have

C:\Program

as well as

C:\Program Files

If this still doesn't help I'd suggest an uninstall re-install as something is obviously very wrong with the installation.

I downloaded and applied SP4 and was able to open up the ARCserve manager after doing so. Backups seem to run fine now, no more asmgr.exe Dr.Watson errors (so far, cross my fingers). I don't think the server likes SP5.

The only problem I have now is that when the backup job starts, an error appears showing

E4102 Unable to open database. (DATABASE=astpsdat, EC=256)

The backup job does complete and the database does update.

Any ideas?

THANKS.
