Hallo,
I would like to recover a Windows2003 Server with Arcserve 9 and the ASR-Disk Method.
The Server has been saved with a Raid 5 (two log. Drives c: and d: over four 72 GB disks), now the Server has two Raid 1 Containers (each Container real 72 GB).

I think i have to edit the ASR-Disk because the DR-Process said:

Not enough hard disk space ... look for your disk ...

c: is about 4 GB, d: is about 2 GB used.
I dont know the total given size for the logical drives used by the last backup under Raid 5.

Any helpful suggestions are welcome.
Deleteing the Partinfo on the ASR-Disk was not successfully.
Thank you - FISI

yeah - i found it.

i have to delete the partinfo.ppp and to edit the asr.sif.

here:

[DISKS.MBR]
1=1,1,1,0x7e659907,512,63,254,252928000
2=1,1,1,0x7e659904,512,63,254,31457280

[PARTITIONS.MBR]
1=1,0,0,"\??\Volume{c7....63}",0x00,0x07,0x07,63,252911547 ,0x0
2=2,0,3,"\??\Volume{c7....63}",0x80,0x07,0x07,63,31443867 ,0x1000

Strange for sure - I guess that the old logical drives were larger hence the message you received. Would have thought you could have got around it by selecting custom restore instead of express or whatever they call it these days.

Good to hear you worked it out anyway - not seen the solution of editing the asr.sif for this specific problem.

Hallo vschumpy,

the last Backup was made with 5 hard disks á 36 GB into a Raid 5 Container
with two logical Drives.
c: about 15 GB and d: about 123 GB

The Disaster Recovery was made with 4 hard disks á 36 GB in two Raid 1 Containers,
and two logical Drives.
c: about 36 GB and d: about 36 GB.

For DR a Windows2003 Server theres just one Way with the ASR-Disk (automated system recovery).

finally it works well, the DC is online.
nice weekend :)
