HELP! I need to downsave a file to work on it in CS1. Does anyone know how to successfully do this?? Thanks!!

If you are fully patched as a CS2 user and your collaborator is a fully patched CS1 user, you can export an INX file.

Beware that not all CS2 features export to CS1.

Thanks so much for responding! I tried your suggestion but the file still didn't open in CS1. Any ideas? FYI- my system 10 is version 10.3.9.

Are you fully patched on both version 3.0.1 and 4.0.4?

If so and there are still errors, temporarily disable color management when opening.

When opening in CS, you need to make sure you have version 3.0.1 with the April 2005 Compatibility Update (that adds in the ability to open .inx files). Even if you don't have the comp. update, your version might still say 3.0.1 because the comp. update didn't change the revision number (confusing, I know).

To make sure you have the right version, hold down the command key and choose About InDesign from the Application menu. Under Application Info, it needs to say version: CS 3.0.1(838).

Hope that helps a little bit.
