Downloading & Saving PSD Problem

I downloaded a few (about 4) PSD's off of a website, and saved them to "my pictures" folder. (I don't know if that was the right thing to do.)

Now, whenever I try to open that folder, it automatically closes it after a second or two. It doesn't matter if I try and open it through Photoshop, or through the Start Menu, it closes the window/program every time.

Frankly, I don't even want the stupid PSD's anymore, I just want to get rid of them, but I don't know how.

So I guess my questions are, 'what did I do wrong?,' and 'how can I fix it, or just get rid of the PSD's if that'll fix it?

You don't have to answer both questions if you can't. Any and all help is appreciated.

It's very unusual to be able to download PSDs from any website. Can you tell us what the website was so we can check that they are in fact, PSDs?

Do you mean the 'My Pictures' folder? Is there anything else in there apart from the downloaded PSDs?

It sounds as though these images could be corrupt. In Windows Explorer, can you see these files in the My Pics folder? If you can, you can delete them through Windows Explorer.

Thanks for responding you rock.

In all honesty, I can't remember the website, but I'll keep looking for it.

Yes; The only other thing in there is a few pictures that I have taken, but they have never caused me any problems in the past, and I haven't added any new ones lately.

Yes I that seems to be the case.

Okay I'm gonna try that right now, thanks man.

Same thing happenned in Windows Explorer. Man this is pissing me off...

I'm a litte concerned with that website. Lots of nasty messages popped up warning of infection. HAve you got any antivirus software? Run it and see if it picks up anything.

You could use the Command mode if you know how to navigate in DOS. It should get you into the directory without crashing. It is also probably your best chance of deleting the offending files.

Well I ended up just deleting the entire folder that it was in and that solved it because nothing else was working.

I lost some other stuff that I kind of wanted, but whatever.

Learned my lesson.
