Downloading a database automatically 1

I would like to write a COM object that would dial up (via a modem) to my server at a set time every day and download a database (using VB6 on Win 98/NT/2000).

Can anyone give me pointers on how to do this? Or even any books which would help? I've written COM object before - its just the automation/dialing up and ftp part that is getting me.

The Automation you are looking for is know as Remote Access Services RAS (NT) or Dial Up Networking DUN (9x). And much of ras is embodied in rasapi32.dll

I turned up this link searching for the DLL at DogPile.
