Downgrading from Solaris 9 to Solaris 8

Is it hard to downgrade from Solaris 9 to Solaris 8? I have an old SPARC I bought on E-Bay that came with Solaris 9 pre-installed. For training purposes, I'd like to install Solaris 8 on the SPARC.

Does Solaris 9 make irreversible file partition changes or something else that might make a downgrade impossible?

I wouldn't have thought downgrading would be without problems - better to reinstall 8 from scratch I think. Others may disagree.............

Just install from scratch. It won't give you any trouble. Don't bother starting with the "Installation CD" just boot right from the first software cd.
