Hi, We are currently using an old version of MAS90 (3.31 i think). Since our company downsized and probably cannot afford upgrading MAS90 to support some enhancements like UPS worldship and some other stuff. Also most of the "expert" users of MAs90 has since been gone from the company. We were thinking of using a different system, something that can import the most data from MAS90. Users will be probably be less than 5. We are eyeing Peachtree since it is coming from the same company but havent really tried it yet. Our MAS90 is a mess right now in terms of junk (unused data) in it.

Any suggestions will be a great help.

Thanks

Roy

Hi Roy,

Not an easy question to answer. Firstly, what are the modules your are currently using and which features that are "must haves". This will help you evaluate other packages. Once you have your needs and must have set up you can start looking at other packages.

Most of the time there are no methods when "downsizing" packages. Since most smaller packages will not have the number of fields and/or files to transfer to.

Your best bet for transfering data is the master files only (Customer/Vendors/Items) The best way would be to export to a spreadsheet and then "clean out" the extra fields before doing the import to your new package.

Michael,

One of the important things is the purchase histories of the customers. We do check these histories a lot specially when we try to reference the products that they purchased and how many. We have to somehow transfer the histories to the new system. Altho having MAS90 still running just to check for customer histories is ok, having to do it in the new system would be great.

Here are the modules that are "must haves"
Accounts Payable
Accounts Recievable
Bank Reconciliation
GL
Inventory Management
PO
SO
Work Order

Thanks

Roy
