We have an IP 500 V2 which shipped with version 6.x which we want to deploy it in a 5.x SCN. When I attempt to downgrade the firmware to version 5.0.24 by repointing to the older bin files, the upgrade wizard allows me to select all the files, except the bin for the unit itself. I'm using a version of manager 8.0.18 to do the downgrade. Thanks for any suggestions.

You can't do this, they only work from R6 up, reason being R5 bin files do not contain the programming to make the SD card readers and things like that on the V2's work :)

BTW, SCN will work with one major release of seperation, so 6.0 will work ok with systems running 5.0 :)

it means any new features of r6 SCN are redundant since you are marrying it with a r5 switch.

why not just upgrade both to 6.1 - since your r6 switch is less than 100 days old, you will be able to take it to 6.1 free and just pay for the upgrade to 6.1 on the older switch.
