Downgrade 5410 firmware 1

How do you downgrade the firmware on a 5410 handset from R5.0 to R2.0?
Is it just a simple case of connecting it to a system running on pre 4.1 software with a TFTP server & the correct bin file available?

yep.

pre 4.0.10.

apparently some later 3.2 uses R5 as well.

I have a client who has connected a 5410 handset with R5 firmware to a IP406 on software 3.1(65) with manager open and the working directory pointing to the corrct folder which has the 5410_R2.bin file but after a few minutes of the handset displaying "Please wait" the entire DS16 expansion module resets and no firmware gets loaded. Any ideas?

try putting the handset on the controller to do the downgrade
