doubt on external procedures

i have a doubt in microstrategy and hope u guys can help me out in this.
How can we invoke external procedures in microstrategy and deal with functions and these procedures.

you can use stored procedures and functions, for example when you define a custom filter, you can put ApplySimple("myfunction(#0)", ?PromptValue) in the value textfield... when you are comparing an attribute element value with the result of the function that receive a parameter.
