Hello, I've a doubt about IIS environment. This is the question.

I would like to have two W2K IIS 5.0 servers in different buildings but with the same content, therefore users of building 1 will connect to server 1 and users of building 2 will connect to server 2. Two servers must have the same content always, if any modification is performed in server 1 must be done in server 2 automatically. No backends, no WLBS.

Is this possible?, if possible, How?

Thanks in advance.

Delgado.

Not sure about what your setup is...

Are they in the same workgroup?
Are they separated completely.
Do they have internet connectivity?
Is there a Databse? or just Static Pages.
How often are the pages updated and by who,
The Users or the webmaster?

Idealy you would place them in the same network and setup load balancing on the server. Sharing the files for both servers.

If you cannot connect the two directly, then if they are connected to the internet... Many FTP servers can be set to update information automatically. But if the frequency of changes is high you may overight one server before the files can be sent to the the other.

Hello, thanks for your answer.

Servers are in same WinNT 4.0 domain as member servers, they have connectivity across the LAN and pages will be statics updated by webmaster with an update rate low.

Better configuration will be two servers, members of the same domain, static pages stored independently in local disks of each server, users of building_1 will connect to server_1 and users of building_2 will connect to server_2, changes performed in the structure of one server will be replicated to other server as soon as possible. At this moment will be only web servers for the intranet users.

I know that this isn't a standar configuration but ..... Is possible, how?

Thanks in advance. Regards.

Delgado.
