DOS Hardware Checker

People,

I'm running Windows 98SE with an AMD K6-2 and FIC 503+ MoBo
and am looking for a DOS program that checks the Motherboard and
all of the attached components and reports whether all is OK or not.
I'm already using Doc Memory for the RAM.

Aida32 is about the best all around program for checking what you have. I do not know of a DOS base program that will check out a board, especially an FIC. An FIC board is a weird character. I just had one of them just to sit and fry on the desk.

Aida apparently has changed companies. It is now called Everest. It has the same look as Aida and the best thing is that it provides direct links to most of the hardware on you system including locations for upgrades and patched.

CheckIt from Smith Micro works well for me.

I use a couple of diagnostics that work from their bootable floppy. To do it right you'll need the loop-back plugs for the I/O ports.
