I've got a 1.44MB floppy disk that has a html file on it (created on a PC so the disk isn't in a UNIX format) that I want to copy onto my RS6000 43P but I cant remember the correct command to do this. Can someone help me please.

Regards

well thats the first part of it.

dosread /dev/fd0/ ? <--- but that doesn't seem to work.

Sorry, never used it, but from the man page I'd guess:

dosread -a -D/dev/fd0 File1 [ File2 ]

Hope this helps.

It does :) thanks alot. Maybe I should try waking up my own Brain.

Regards

Now I'm getting a message saying "Use a Dos Format Disk" which is strange considering I used the Dos Format command on the Unix box to format the disk.

Hmm, getting beyond me, I'm afraid. It seems that the -v flag to dosread will tell you whether the disk is a DOS disk. I think I might try to format the disk on a PC rather than using dosformat too. Good luck.

If your Floppy is really a DOS Floppy an dosread will not work, try:
mtools ( Freeware Tool from the bull Page )
