Dos Application Display using Windows 2000 OS

Hi,

My partner and I have about 30 clients who have dos applications written in DATAPERFECT (a database developed my corel many years ago). The applications run perfectly under WIN98 but the display in 2000 is minimal. We have chosen full screen but we just can't get it to work. It also does not run as fast. Yet, the display is the most irritating problem.

Any suggestions?

Are the old programs working under Dos or under Windows ? Eng.Mohamed Farid

Go to the icon of your program (dos based)
right click to get the properties
go to layout and make sure its at 80 width and 25 height
then put it in full screen and that should do the trick
(Had a similar problem and that is how I fixed it, by playing with the layout)

Wow, memories -- Dataperfect was what got me into IT stuff (before it was called IT) in about 1986. I built databases for my neighbor's video stores (before there was Blockbuster). Nice summer job for a 14 year old.

Also, this was (long before Corel had anything to do with Wordperfect)....

If the dos windows is active,...holding alt while pressing enter toggles full screen and window.

I COPIED DP23 AND ALL SUBDIRECTORIES TO THE HARD DRIVE
C: , IN EEPLORER RIGHT CLICKED ON DP.EXE OPEN PROPERTIES, SET THE PROGRAM TO RUN "MAXIMIZED", SET THE SCREEN
"FULL". PUT SHORTCUT ON DESKTOP. THEN OPEN BY CLICKING
THE SHORTCUT. RUNS FASTER AND BETTER THAN UNDER ANY OTHER OPERATING SYSTEM
