Doorphone on BCM 1

Installed a doorphone on a BCM 50 rls3.1. New doorphone NT8B79FE6. Button on doorphone is lite, push button and you get tone in speaker. Cannot access programming (feature 9*4). It tells me "inactive feature". Go into maintenance and the port shows "idle", device says "doorphone". Dial the extension number it says "not in service". It's driving me crazy !!!!

You need a BST door phone for BCM's.

I cant fing your part number for some reason.

Sorry. Part number is NT8B79FDE6. This is the BST doorphone (I am an authorized Nortel dealer, and the part was ordered new from the distributor). Why I can't get into the programming is the mystery.

Maybe try a set at the door phone and make sure the set work perfect, this is to make sure cable is good and under 1000 feet and that nonody is in config programming while doing F9*4.
Or swap to another pair.

Aslo try the door phone at the KSU and another port too.

I cant suggest anything else at this point.

The doorphone on the bcm are accessible with element manager in active set. Not by F*4.

Make sure you have latest patches on the 3.0. There is a patch related to doorphone problems. Especially if you have doorphone trying to ring a hunt group.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Solved it myself. FYI - Doorphone must be installed on main module. It will not work on expansion module.
