Hello I have a BCM50 which stopped allowing the door opener controller to work. This was a working configuration.
Both the the door opener and door opener controller are BST.
I tried replacing both the doorphone and the door opener controller.
I confirmed the wiring and checked the continuity on the wires.
The dip switch settings were set default allowing the opening digit to be 6.
The latest patches were installed including the one that refer to the doorphone.
The door opener controllers led flashes steady.
The door phone can be called and works as far as ringing the huntgroup it is set to.
The door phone capabilities appear on the element managers
dn settings.
The only thing I'm not sure about is the relay timing in the dip switch settings which hasn't been changed.
Has anybody experienced this problem?

Given that you didn't change any settings and you have already changed the doorphone and the controller, logic would deduce that the problem is beyond the phone system equipment.

When you dial the digit 6 after the doorphone has answered, can you hear the relay click on the controller? If so, connect an ohm meter accross the output and determine that the relay is in fact producing the opening and closing required by the customers equipment.

Converesly, you can simply place a short circuit on the pair of wires that goes to the door opening equipment and see if that activates it. (or whatever condition it needs to operate). Remember, we are only providing an open or a closure on a set of relay contacts.

I did try it wired as normally closed and the door opened.
When this is working correctly on a T7316 phone one of the soft keys become an open button, and pressing this button or the 6 button opens the door.
Currently the open button doesn't appear and the 6 digit does nothing.

OK, In this case I would reboot the BCM. Without that option showing up on your screen, I'm afraid you're toast.

You did say in your original post that you are current on patches but in my experience, when things don't work right after applying one (or more), the best course of action is a physical reboot instead of the soft ones that patches force.

If you haven't already, give it a try and see if that brings the option back. If it doesn't, you might have to reprogram the devices from scratch.
