Hello,

I need to provide the following: Dial an extension/access code and send voltage down the line to a relay. This relay will pop the door.

I beleive they want 0 voltage, and then once the code is entered they want some type of voltage.

Questions:

1. Would this be a trunk? I tried PAG trunk but 0 voltage, and Analog line has 40v and then 48v when ringing...no good.
2. IF so, what type of trunk? Paging doesnt seem to work because it doesnt provide voltage.
3. programming tips?

Thanks in advance if anyone can answer this...

Set up a 500 port as a HOT D line to the DN that is answering the door. They make all kinds of door phones, you will need to research some to see what you like best. I've installed many door phones on Norstar/BCM systems but that was using the Nortel BST door phone/DOC. I also have used Viking ones in the past as well which weren't to bad.

Here is the last commuinication from the Security company:

After much deliberation and reaching out to resources familiar with this requirement I am advised that the way we left conditions at site are that is we supplied a dry contact for the phone system to change the state of the contact thus opening the door. Most phone systems have dry contacts that can be programmed to change state by pressing a number or group of numbers.

I need to have 0 voltage, and then send voltage whenyou call the extension.

Thx

check this product out - I have used to allow ringing phone to output dry contact closure

You will need to program a COT route in ld 16 and then program a COT trunk in ld 14. Once this is completed you then cross connect the second pair of the trunk TN to the relay. Each trunk TN is two pair and the second pair of each trunk TN is a contact closer. Then program an Hot D key with the ACOD of the route you built. Press the key and the door opens.
