after much changing around to get 2 computers networked to share files, somehow I have changed my users permissions. I am a single user on a home w2k setup.

Now when I try to change video resolutions or look at the TCP/IP properties ( or a lot of things I used to do), I get the message "You don't have permission to do this...see your administrator"

What could I check? John Farrow

Check to see if you are the administrator of the local machine. WMH

Yes I am the administrator. I was also a power user and the power user started losing privilages after I started trying to network two computers together so we could play games on a LAN. I just tried to remove my username and reinstall it and I lost everything.
Do you happen to know what a profile file extension is so I could try to import it back? John Farrow
