Dongle Hipath 4000 v1 1

Hello,
I have hipath 4000 v1, the dongle H/W is broken, can I access to system without it?
Also, Is there any manual for software reset of the system?

In addition to preview post,
The system was run about one month, after that it was stopped (The led lights is illustrated in attached photo)
I have read in another thread about the trial without dongle, if this trial is finished, the system will stop. (is it right?)
finally if I want to buy new dongle, from where?

Hi,
If the dongle is physically broken then you cannot administer the system without it.
You can use a Red Dongle (Bypassdongle) to administer it if you have one.

You have 2 trial modes each 30 days long.
After that unless you log on to the codeword tool and reset the trial modes again the system will block all features (AMO FEASU)

From the Picture it looks like your Administration and Data Server (ADS) is working with the dash/dot.

However your A&B Voice processors are down/reloading.

Can you contact your supplier/Unify/Siemens and give them the system number (Written on the system and dongle) L31xxxxxx
They will supply a new dongle probably on the receipt of the old one.

About dash/dot signs, is it normal?
About A&B Voice processors are down/reloading, is this happened because of the finished trial?
The attached photo captured yesterday, what is the problem? why is the system down? is the system down because of the finished trail?
I can telnet to 192.0.2.5 with engr account.
Also I can open

but the message "Activation failed" is appeared at the start-up of login.
please I need your help..

Hi Rony,

The dash/dot is normal for the first ADS processor.

The A&B are not loaded or are in a loading loop.

Do you have a dongle ? Black or Red dongle ? Any dongle ??

The Telnet is for the Unixware that will load up the Assistant at 192.0.2.5
The activation of the Unixware failed.

Who has setup the hard disk, is it yourself ?

Do you have the program 'ComWin' also called 'HiPath Expert Access'

That would allow you to connect to the system to see what is happening....

thanks you very much..
I don't have now any dongle.
I have comwin (Hipath Expert Access), and I have used network cable to connect to system. I connected by using ip 192.0.2.3, the connection established. However when I entered any command, it ask me for user account and password. I have entered the engr/password, after that it appeared message "can't login at this time" and the connection rejected.
I didn't setup the Hard disk.
If you suggest to setup the Hard disk, please tell me how?

About The activation of the Unixware failed..
when I login to

I found web-based hipath expert access, I put the username and passwords of (engr). I can access but new popup internet explorer window appeared saying that the activation failed.
In the web-based hipath expert access, most of the links give me "java.lang.classnotfoundexception:de.siemens..", although I have installed JRE, and the JRE is working for few links. For example, there is a link (Diagnostics) when I press on it, the java applet played and test the system, the message " ... ACL-C related setup ... TSKA".
Tomorrow I will captured the messages.

Hi,
When accessing the Unixware on 192.0.2.5 you have to initially go through the 'Client Preparation' for the java to work correctly.

However there is no point.
Nothing can be done with the system without the dongle...

Hi,
I do not think so.
It might not be setup correctly.

The dongle is required to get it to work if this is a 'first install'

If the system was up and running with a dash/dot, A and S (Activa and Standby) and THEN went down well then that is not to do with the Dongle.

If the system was never running correctly it will then need the Dongle to get setup.

Just a dumb question, but can you not get around the dongle issue for anything at all (like dongle-related commands) even when logged in as root with putty or something? That was just a general question.

The only commands that work without the dongle are
firstly dongle related like ADD-CODEW;
Others include ALL OF THE ADS like CDR and ANUM/HISTA and so on
When the Switching Unit is Active or made active by AMO CPCI it immediately looks for the CODEW
Then without it you cannot do any of the SWU commands

this dongle is red for Hipath Version 1,2 unlimited time % unlimited licenses
is this dongle enough for setup the system and operate it normally?
what is the best, red dongle or black dongle?

Hi,
It USED to be for unlimited time.
Some of the RED dongles were unlimited but then they 'limited' them all.
The RED dongles now only work for 30 days.

The rule is:
CUSTOMER SITE: BLACK DONGLE
TECHNICIAN: RED DONGLE

Only once did I need to change that rule and that was in a country far away and a long story....

Yes you can setup a system with the RED dongle, that is what it is for...
but on the customer site they have to pay for the licences so they get a black dongle...

IS THAT OK?
Do you need the codeword for that red dongle ?

"because you need a dongle including the codeword. The dongle without a codewort is worthless.
Which version of the Hipath 4000 is used?
How many licenses is required?"

so I answered

About the licenses, I want to re-operate the system with all features with unlimited time"

After that they give me this red dongle.. I have not bought it yet, I've just discuss with them.

you mean: by these files loaded to red dongle, I can operate the system unlimited time.. is that right?
also, what is the difference between the two last files?
