Domino 4.6.7 - Need help ...

Hi,

After having set some quota for some mailboxes, nothing happens.
The user can send, receive, save messages even if they exceed their quotas !

Could you help me ?

Have you checked in the admin-client that the quota has been set correctly i.e. the mailbox definitely shows the quota (sometimes it doesn't work because you have insufficient access rights)? Might be a possible bug in 4.6.7(we are using R5 and there it works perfectly)

Please note: The database quota does not apply to incoming mail - even though the user is above his quota he will still receive all mails regardless of the size. There is an option in R5 (don't know about R4) where you can specifiy that you don't want do the user to receive his mails once he has exceeded his quota but you should be very careful using it (might cause big trouble with the management ). The quota only works for saving and sending.

After having set the quota i'm able to see them.
I don't have any errors and the system inform me the quota is applied succesfully, so no problem with that.

to be concrete:
I put 50Mb for the quota limit, 40Mb for the warning and even if my mailbox is over 100Mb i'm able to save and to do everything !

There is nothing ( errors, warnings ) in the log.nsf

I'm a little be perturbated.

As far as I know you will not receive any messages if the quota set already is below the acutal size of the mailbox!

Hi,
The quota doesn't work in 4.6.7 and 5.x. You need to use an agent to let the quota work.Go to Sandbox and try to find the agent there.

yeah you are all right it doesn't work partly in 5.x. some users really take effect the mail quota but apparently most users don't take effect at all. looks strange and funny!
