Hey Guys...

Happy New Year....

I have a domain with a 50 users... and i have a printer installed on one of the client (user02) printer is HP 1600... i shared the printer... and the user02 can print normally...

Now when i'm trying to print from any other client (any other user) the job stuck and didn't run until i restart the service ( Print Spool) on the use pc which the printer is attached to (user02)... but when i login as an administrator to any client and print it's printing smoothly without any problem

any idea guys ???

Create the printer share when connected as administrator on the local PC and ensure that the permissions are set to Everyone for Print.

I always prefer to make shared printers networkable. I recommend buying a Ethernet to USB\LPT1 print server device and assign it an IP. Then set up a print server, say a member server you have, to centralize printers and their print drivers. Linking a shard printer through another computer requires that computer to be on 24/7 for that printer to be available. And since that device I suggested is pretty cheap; I would highly consider it.

Did you try Zel's solution?

I'm Certifiable, not cert-ified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

There are no more PDC's! There are DC's with FSMO roles!

I had same problem in one case in a small office when two users were sharing a printer. In order to be able to print, a user has to be administrator in the machine hosting printer ( as you're doing as administrator). Since in my case it was not problem to give admin rights to that user in printer hosting machine, I didn't go further, but having a printer sharing by more users, it is a bit different.

I read somewhere that even giving power user rights in hosting machine, or giving full rights in Spooler Folder would fix the problem. I did not try myself.

I went again to the user with the mentioned problem, and changing Printing Processor to WinPrint/RAW solved the issue.

Hope it helps you as well.

Sorry m00dY4u, didn't mean to frustrate you...

In the security of the printer did you set Everyone to "full" rights? Manage printer, manage documents, maybe it will help...just a thought.
