Hi Guys,
I have a Cobalt Raq4 running Apache.
I have about 20 domains running on the server but for some reason ONE and only one of them has stopped logging accesses to the sites access log file and also to the servers access file.
All other domains are logging correctly.

Please help as I'm tearing my hair out here trying to find the problem.

Cheers,
Paul.

I'm pretty sure that if you try to restart apache, it will fail. If apache can't write to a log, it will NOT start. Either the path to the log as defined in httpd.conf does not exist or the permissions to that directory have changed.

Thanks RythmAce, but I've found the cause. I have something called Pannywize installed on that domain. It's a user protection system and has a CustomLog line in the httpd.conf file for the domain concerned.

Would I be right in thinking that this will replace Apaches default logging features?

Now I think I know the cause, what's the solution ...?

OK, got it.

I have a user/password protection system on the site called Pennywize.

The pennywize installation has a 'CustomLog...' line within the <virtual> tags in the httpd.conf file. This obviously overides the default logging.

Cheers all.

Paul.
