Can domain logons fail because the server has SP2 applied and the workstation only SP1?

Can domain logons fail because the time server has not been configured?

The Service Pack version should not have any effect on logins. What is the error you are getting? James Collins

I see the server from the workstation in My Network Places but for a long time get "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request" as an error message when clicking on the Server icon.
I have done net time on the server (it's not currently connected to the Internet so can't do the sntp switch) but when I try net time /set on the workstation I get an error 5, access is denied.
How do I synchronize if I can't log on to the domain?
Thank.
Tony.

Well after a while the message goes away and I can get past the Server icon OK. The server is 192.168.0.1 and the workstation 192.168.0.2 and both have subnet mask at 255.255.255.0.

I still get a W32time error on startup. Could that be it? The server doesn't yet have an Internet connection.
