Domain issue ...

This question is a little outside the scope of this group but I'm hoping that someone here might have some ideas.

I have an NT4 domain with 150+ users. Most clients are XP Pro. Recently a small percentage of them will have a large (2-4 minute) delay when they try to access a network share. Once they finally access it then data transfer is lightning fast. This does not affect every machine and a machine might be bad one day and good the next.

We have rebooted everything that boots, built a new PDC, checked WINS and tried every trick we can think of. No change.

Any thoughts?

Is there anyting interesting in event viewer on either machine ?

You may also want to put a sniffer on your network to see what is going on.
